Agriculture and forestry are the economic backbone of Jones County, employing over one-fourth of its residents and contributing around 70% of the county’s value‑added income.
The Jenkins Family felt and heard the calling to protect their piece of history and impact the sustainability of our state’s resources. Over 190 acres of timber and cropland perpetually protected thanks to Dan & Claire for partnering with WLT and the US Air Force, alongside NCDA ADFP.

“This farm has been a part of my family’s history since 1855. It is now not just a place we share with family and friends, it’s our home. Farming has always been a part of my life. Claire and I take great pride in caring for the land for future generations. With the help of the conservation easement, we have assurance it will always be a working farm.” – Dan & Claire Jenkins
