TYRRELL COUNTY

While 2020 brought many challenges, we are grateful that conservation work continued at a steady clip. In the first half of the year we closed a conservation easement on 650 acres in Tyrrell County, just south of the New Lake Game Land. This project compliments a nearby 1000 acres closed at the end of 2019, significantly increasing conservation in the neighborhood and creating connections for local wildlife. The willingness of these farmers to permanently protect their land will ensure a lasting agricultural footprint in the region, as well as plenty of room to roam. We’ve been fortunate enough to spy black bears on our last two visits… third time’s a charm!
