ROANOKE BASIN

Protecting working forests along our waterways helps ensure downstream water quality, including Albemarle and Pamlico Sounds. In recent months, WLT worked with forestland owners in the Roanoke Basin to conserve over one hundred acres of family property that includes recently restored longleaf pine and beautiful freshwater wetlands. This parcel will be stewarded under a forest management plan designed to enhance and sustain the region’s native ecology. A beautiful woodland gift for North Carolina’s waters!
